Raymond Taylor, 83 year old, Maud, Oklahoma resident left his earthly home on June 30, 2008 after a tragic auto accident. Raymond and his twin sister Rachel were born to Lois Kelly Slaughter Taylor and Wiley Taylor on August 2, 1924 at their home in Seminole County, Oklahoma.rnrnRaymond married Bettie Louise Strawn on April 30, 1945 in McKittrick, California. To this union was born one son Danny Ray Taylor who was born June 25, 1946.rnrnRaymond worked oilfield in California his entire adult life where he was also a member of the Elk Lodge, Moose Lodge and Taft Sportsman Lodge. He retired from Luns Oil Company after 40 years of service. After retiring he and his wife Louise moved back to Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnSadly Raymond?s wife and son both preceded him in death. Louise died February 17, 2005 and his son Danny Ray Taylor died July 4, 1983. His parents, two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.rnrnRaymond is survived by three sisters; his twin sister Rachel Hale of Maud, Oklahoma, Virgie Cullum and Mary Lee Brewer both of Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnThree grandchildren; Tammy Kestler of Maud, Oklahoma, Teresa and her husband Larry Brockett of Tyler, Texas and Raymond and his wife Lora Taylor of Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnFive great grandchildren; Harlin Kestler and Jacob Kestler both of Maud, Oklahoma, Colt Brockett and Kelly Brockett both of Tyler, Texas, Sierra Taylor of North Carolina and Danny Taylor of Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnRaymond is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and many close friends. rnrnRaymond will be greatly missed by all.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.rnrnCasket Bearers will be; Donald Ray Hale, Donald Leroy Hale, Larry Brockett, Jack Pierce, Harlin Kestler and Jacob Kestler.rnrnHonorary Bearers will be; Raymond Leon Taylor, Carl Eschman and Colt Brockett.rnrnServices are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma (405) 374-2424rn Funeral Information: July 2, 2008, 2:30 AM
