Raymond Arthur Sandlin, age 56 and a resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Alliance Health Hospital in Seminole. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole. Scott Welch will officiate, and casket bearers are Raymond M. Sandlin, Carson Sandlin, Clarence Benard, Stephen Sharpe, Tony Dix, and Dwight Carey. Honorary bearers are Landon Sandlin, C.J. Benard, Eli Benard, Kannon Sharpe, Kooper Sharpe, and Michael Satterfield. Flower girls are Kerri Benard, Ella Sharpe, and Makayla Sandlin. The family will greet guests Monday night, July 16 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Raymond was born September 1, 1961 in Perry, Oklahoma to Floyd Oliver Sandlin, Sr. and Betty Jean (Brown) Sandlin. He graduated from Keota High School in 1980, and retired from Bridgestone Tire Company after twenty years of service with them. He loved to spend time with his family and to visit with friends, and he loved golfing, and listening to music. He also loved to watch his grandkids play sports. Raymond was a proud Dad and PawPaw most of all. He is survived by three sons, Raymond Matthew Sandlin and wife, Tara of Sedalia, Missouri, Carson Sandlin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Michael Satterfield of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Stacey Benard and husband, Clarence of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and Amanda Sharpe and husband, Stephen of Edmond, Oklahoma; four brothers, Keith, Oliver, Kenneth, and Gary Sandlin; five sisters, Flora Rogers, Marla Schovanec , Tricia Drummond, Becky Adams, and Sharon Abernathy; nine grandchildren, Kerri, C.J., Eli, Ella, Kannon, Kooper, Landon, Makayla, and Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Nancy Welch, and Darlene Maynard.
