Ray Ernest Shultz, 82-year-old Wewoka resident passed from this life Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at his home in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He was born February 16, 1926 in Olney, Illinois to parents Frank Ernest Shultz and Nora (Curtis) Shultz.rnrnRay served in the United States Navy earning the rank of coxswain USNR. He also received the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 3 Stars, the Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal.rnrnRay married Willene Pricer on January 19, 1955 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2006.rnrnRay and Willene both worked for Joe Mill?s Well Service in Seminole. Ray retired in 1988 after many years of dedicated service.rnrnSurvivors include his loving family. Three sons and daughters-in-law, Rob Shultz of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Doug & Pat Shultz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Brad & Tammie Shultz of Prague, Oklahoma; one daughter, Raylene Shultz of Wewoka, Oklahoma; one brother, O.E. ?Bud? Shultz of Noble, Illinois; two sisters, Helen Beam of Ashland, Illinois and Ruth Fulk of Ashland, Illinois; two granddaughters, Megan Shultz of Prague and Kara Shultz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnHis parents; his wife of 51 years Willene Shultz and one granddaughter, Jennifer Shultz in 2003, precede Ray in death.rnrnGraveside services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 at Little Cemetery North of Seminole. Rev. David Pollard will officiate the service. The United States Navy Honor Guard will provide military Honors.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.rn Funeral Information: January 8, 2009, 3:30 AM
