Ray B. Jackson, 87 year-old life long Seminole resident passed from this life Monday, September 15, 2008 at Seminole Hospital. He was born July 4, 1921 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Royal Benton Jackson and Annie (Beasley) Jackson.rnrnJackson graduated from Prairie Valley High School in 1939. He then enlisted into the United States Army where he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and earned the rank of Sergeant with the 675th Bombardment Squadron. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Distinguished Unit Badge.rnrnRay married Lillie ?Priscilla? (Stowers) Jackson on August 7, 1952 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2000.rnrnRay retired as a Airplane mechanical supervisor from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole and also enjoyed all of his friends at the Heritage House in Seminole.rnrnSurvivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Buster and Ruth Southern of Kirtland, New Mexico and Jimmy Southern of Farmington, New Mexico; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan Rose of Marion, Ohio, Patricia and Benny Morgan of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Sue Tibbs of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; one son-in-law, Frank Woods of Shawnee, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; also surviving are a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnMr. Jackson is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Priscilla Jackson; one son, Billy Southern; one daughter, Shirley Woods; four brothers, G.B., Cecil, Brian and Floyd Jackson; two sisters, Lola Oakley and Ola Hughes; one grandson, Danny Southern; one granddaughter, Shirley Joan Woods; one great grandchild Lori Sparks and by two sons-in-law, Bill Rose and Cleo Tibbs.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2008 at Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole with Dr. Wade Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery with Military Honors.rnrnCasket Bearers will be; Benny Morgan, Jr. ? Steve Southern ? Gene Warner ? Bradley Myers ?
