Ralph Stone

Ralph W. Stone; 95 Ralph W. Stone “Stoney” long time Seminole resident passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Seminole, Oklahoma. Stoney was born August 14, 1914  in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to parents Charlie and Blanch (Epperson) Stone. Stoney was of the Baptist faith and owner and president of Josie Oil and Gas. Stoney married Mildred “Hannah” Williams in 1935, moved to Las Vegas in 1942. By 1947 he owned five used car lots but decided to move back to Oklahoma to get into the oil business. His career in the oil and gas business spanned over 65 years, beginning in the 1940’s, when he went to work on wells in St. Louis, Oklahoma.  Stoney loved his grandchildren and daughter-in-law more than anything. After Mildred passed away in 1994,he married Josie Andrews in July 2005 Josie also passed away and Stoney married Linda Sharpe who became his true soul mate. Stoney is survived by son: Jon of Seminole, Oklahoma and daughter-in-law, Debbie of Seminole, Oklahoma. Survived by seven grandchildren: Traci, Tami, Sheli, Andi, Brooke, Brandie and Brian. Three great grandchildren:Julia, Brianna and Britany and 1 great great grandchild Alex. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Freeman officiating and assisted by Fred Gibson. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers: Brian Weems, Joe Reynolds, Steve Smith, Bob Berry, Dickey Bryan and Keith Hames.
