Longtime Seminole resident Ralph Jones passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his home at the age of 70.rnrnRalph was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, March 1, 1936, to George W. Jones and Leona (Taylor) Jones. He graduated from Nowata High School in 1954 and married Fredilene (Cordes) Jones in 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. rnrnRalph graduated from Tulsa University in 1958 with a degree in petroleum engineering and went to work for Amerada Petroleum at Tioga, North Dakota. Later he spent two years in the Tulsa office, four years in Louisiana, and four years in Alberta, Canada. He left Amerada in 1969, moving back to Tulsa from Alberta and going to work for White Shield Oil & Gas as a department manager. In 1973 he left White Shield Oil and Gas and started his own business, Genesis, Inc., traveling as a consultant, with much work in the Seminole area. In 1976 Genesis, Inc. became the operator of oil and gas leases for Pawnee Petroleum and others, and Ralph and his family moved from Tulsa to Seminole in 1977. rnrnIn February 2004 a house church was begun called Fresh Bread Fellowship and Ralph became the pastor. He saw this as a very important commission from the Lord, and put his heart and his life into this work for God. He loved the Lord with every part of his being and talked about Him to everyone he saw, which God blessed mightily. rnrnRalph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. But if he could speak to us now, he would tell us to focus on the Lord and make Him the center of our lives, for only then can we find true peace, happiness, and fulfillment. rnrnHis parents, one brother Jerry and one daughter Sheron Argo precede him in death.rnrnHe is survived by his wife Fredilene of the home, son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Dana Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter, Amy Lunday of Seminole, Oklahoma, brother and sister-in-law: Weldon and Patti Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Fred and Wendy Argo of Wewoka, Oklahoma. rnrnTwelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive him. rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Pastor Drew Isaacs, Ron Faulk and Bob Brown officiating.
