Quennion Fletcher Sharver, age 86 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at St. Louis Baptist Church with Glenn Peck and Brandon Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Casket bearers are LeAllen Sharver, Cameron Sharver, Terry Ballard, Ty Dean, Gary Smith, and Haskell Cooley. Honorary bearers are Harold Todd, Bill Sullivan, and Steve Nail. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Quennion was born January 9, 1931 in Spiro, Oklahoma to W. C. Sharver and Ola Mae (Claunch) Sharver. He was a gospel singer for eighty years and began playing the guitar at the age of six. Quennion was the founder of the All Night Gospel Singing in Konawa which he directed for for thirty-four years. He also directed and participated in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Easter Sunrise Service for approximately twenty years. After high school, Quennion proudly served in the U.S. Army as Assistant Chaplin and Payroll Clerk for two years. Quennion received two Master’s Degree in Education Administration and was the Principal for several schools including in Alaska and for Vamoosa. He was a member and Deacon at St. Louis Baptist Church and was their Music Director until February of this year. He married LaDeen Faye Ervin December 26, 2004 in St. Louis, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, LaDeen Sharver of the home; one son, Quennion “David” Sharver and wife, Virginia of Konawa; one daughter, Melody Lynn Sharver of Konawa; one sister, Wanda Christene Ballard of Tonkawa; two grandchildren, LeAllen Sharver and Jamie Lynn Sharver; four great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Cameron, Clayton, and Cierra Sharver. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Ola Mae Sharver; first wife, Rena Ruth Sharver; one sister, Jaqueta Laverne Sharver; and one brother-in-law, Jack Ballard.
