Phyllis Jean Collings, 72, longtime Seminole resident, passed to our loving Lord’s hand on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Phyllis was a native of Seminole, Oklahoma. Phyllis was born October 25, 1942 in Albany, California. She was the 2nd child of Douglas Clifton Collings, Sr. and Grace Kathryn Barnett Collings. Phyllis graduated from Seminole High School in 1960. She was a member of the Seminole High School Choir, Future Teachers of America and Future Homemakers of America. Phyllis attended East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma and was a graduate of the Shawnee Beauty School. Phyllis was employed by Target as Store Front Supervisor. She was employed by T G & Y as regional Computer and trainer. Her last notable employer was Applied Intelligence Group, at the Computer Software Support Desk in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Phyllis was a member of the Church of Christ and loved being a Sunday School Teacher. She loved sewing and was a Master Quilter & Knitter. Her designs adorn many homes. Her life was filled with the devotion and love of her 10 nieces and nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces and nephews. Phyllis Jean Collings was dearly loved by all who knew her and we will greatly miss her jovial laugh, ready smile and kind heart. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Collings, Sr. and her youngest sister, Jacque Smith. She is survived by sister Judy Pulliam and her husband  Larry of Midwest City, Oklahoma, brother Douglas Collings, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Montgomery, Texas, sister Joyce Crabb of Seminole, Oklahoma and brother Kenny Collings and his wife Martha of Ardmore, Oklahoma and many close friends. Serving as pallbearers will be. Dillon Smith, Jeff Crabb, Jeremy Dennis, Zack Dennis, Scott Cormack and Christian Cormack. Honorary bearers will be Cleve Collings, Jon Collings and Bobby Boyer. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Seminole Church of Christ at 12040 Highway 99 North in Seminole. Chris Stinnett and Arpoika Daniels will officiate at the services. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Oklahoma. The casket will be open Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home for visitation and will be not opened at the church.
