Philip Harjo

Philip Joseph Harjo, 68, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born December 30, 1948 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Charles Harjo and Mary (White) Harjo. Philip was a roofer and construction worker and was a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. Philip is survived by, his wife of 32 years, Jean Harjo; two sons; Anthony Harjo and Darrin Contreras, and daughters Phylis Yahola and Lisa Contreras, brother Herbert (Sonny) Harjo and sisters Charlene Wood, Geraldine Dunn and Retna Harjo , son-in-law Armando Salas, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rick Deere and Houston Tiger will be officiating the service. Honorary bearers will be Jason Brooks, Armando Salas and Donald Dorsey. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
