Peggy Hanun

Peggy Jerhea Hanun,70 Peggy Jerhea Hanun, life long Seminole resident passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Unity North Hospital, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Peggy was born December 11, 1939 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Marcus Marion  and Clara Jane (McKinster) Edgell. Peggy, loved her grandchildren and that love carried her into the health care profession where she was a health care provider. She belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Rebekah Lodge. She held the offices of: Noble Grand and Vice Grand Lodge Deputy. Peggy married Jack Arnold Hanun on November 30, 1993 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Peggy is survived by 2 daughters: B.J. Irwin and significant other Carrie Whitley of Henderson, Nevada, and Charlynn “Bo” Jones and Lonnie Joe Jones of Seminole; Oklahoma. One brother, Harold Edgell and his wife Elva of Seminole, Oklahoma; 4 sisters: DeWanda Edgell of Seminole, Oklahoma, Iola Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marketta and husband Jim Barnum of Chinook, Arizona and Carolyn Hopper of St. George, Utah; She is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Johnny Jones of Seminole, Oklahoma, Iris Kiker of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Lonnie Jones, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren, Charles Jones, Sybilla Kiker, Melissa Kiker and Ashton Kiker. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Hanun on November 2, 1999; 2 brothers, Carl and Daryl Edgell; 3 sisters, JoAnn Cooper, Mae Longan and Jessie Leachman. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Presiding will be President James Choate. Internment will take place at Little Cemetery, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Casket bearers: Billy Choate, Steven Choate, Paul Choate, Jason Choate, Wayne Cook and Rocky Watson. Honorary Casket bearers: Carl Watson, Jack Mattingly, Jr., Robert “Sir Bob” Nance, George Higdon, Charles White, Bill Choate and Bobby Woods.
