Pedro Vega

Pedro “Pete” Vega, 55 year old Seminole resident, passed from this life on Friday, April 13, 2018 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was born March 12, 1963 in Harlingen, Texas to Carlos Rodriguez Vega and Juanita Pierce Helms. Pete worked for the City of Seminole as a Lake Ranger at Sportsman Lake. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the National Rifle Association and the National Wildlife Federation. Pete is survived by his fiance’ Mitzi Pearce of Seminole, Oklahoma; his mother, Juanita Helms of Newport, Arkansas; sons, Walker Pearce of Seminole, Oklahoma and Troy E. Vega of Chandler, Oklahoma; daughter, Angela A. Hayes and son-in-law Josh of Pflugerville, Texas; brothers, Carlos Vega and wife Lavera of Italy, Texas, Rodney Vega and his wife Margaret of Willmer, Minnesota, Frankie Vega of Beeville, Texas, Timothy Helms and wife Dalmas of Newport, Arkansas, Dewayne Helms and wife Misty of Beebe, Arkansas; sisters, Kathy Rodrick of Desoto, Texas and Christie Garcia of Newport, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lane Vega, Raven Vega, Ethan Hayes and Jaeda Hayes. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Rodriguez Vega and his sister, Paula Ann Robles. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Carl Whitfield officiating. Following the funeral service, a Memorial Service will be held on the north side of the pavilion at Sportsman Lake. The family requests donations in Pete’s memory be made to the “Sportsman Lake User Fund”. Donations can be sent to the Public Works Office, Seminole City Hall, Attn: Shelly, P.O.
