Pearl Emmitt Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Pearl Dea (Bailey) Emmitt, 80, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Temple of Praise Church located at 1100 University Ave. in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Jeff Nance officiating the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Pearl died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Seminole Care and Rehab Center. She was born October 8, 1938 to Benjamin Wavel and Ollie Belle (Estes) Bailey, in Flippin, Arkansas. She graduated from College High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, in 1958. She went on to further her education graduating from Aladdin Cosmetology School in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Pearl met and married Freddie Don Emmitt Sr. on September 27, 1963 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They had three children, Freddie Don Jr., Leah Dawn and Donald Turner. Fred, Pearl and their family settled in Fred’s hometown of Seminole in the mid 1980’s, where she began working as a cosmetologist at Arvilla’s Beauty Shop on Oak Street. She continued working through her retirement, running the beauty shops at Pioneer Nursing Home and Seminole Estates Nursing Home. She was a member of the Temple of Praise Church and loved the time she spent with her family and friends more than anything else. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 45 years, Freddie Don “Fred” Emmitt, Sr. who died April 8, 2008. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Freddie Don and Sharon Emmitt, Seminole; Leah and Tommy Thompson, Bowlegs; Donald Turner and Kristy Emmitt, Seminole; and one stepson, Donald Arthur and Debbie Emmitt, Fresno, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyne and Mary Bailey, Dewey, OK; and Lonnie and Connie Bailey, Bartlesville, OK; and one sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Larry Arnett, Bartlesville, OK. Also surviving her are her six grandchildren, Timothy Emmitt, Seminole, Dusty Emmitt and his wife Megan, Seminole, Ryan Emmitt, Seminole, Brittany Jones and her husband Sam Bolles of Bowlegs, Bo Jones and his wife Victoria, Little and Blake Emmitt and his wife Kennedi, Holdenville; and seven great-granchildren, Bretlea, Kanon and Everly Bolles, Gracie Gilbert and Ella Jones, and Peyton and Kayla Emmitt, all from the Seminole area; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Timothy Emmitt, Bo Jones, Dusty Emmitt, Blake Emmitt, Ryan Emmitt, and Sam Bolles.
