Paul “PD” Duane Splawn, age 66 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Ada, Oklahoma. A wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11th, at Grace Community Church in Konawa.  The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12th also at Grace Community Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.  Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.  Aaron Isaacs, Jimsey Harjo, and Tim Harjo will officiate.  Pallbearers are Adam Foster, Doug Isaacs, Bob Harrison, R.C. Norman, and James George.  Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Campbell, Kevin Campbell, Dakota Shaw, Tanner Wood, William Pellessier, Stace Harjo, Michael Pellessier, Jessie Lindsey, Authur Davis, Jr., and Bill Jordan. PD was born in Maud, Oklahoma on October 27, 1943, to Norma (Cron) and Paul C. Splawn.  He graduated from Konawa High School and attended East Central University in Ada.  He served in the National Guard, and he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa.  PD was a team roper in the rodeos for many years.  He worked in the construction of the O.G.&E. plants in Konawa and Muskogee.  He loved his family and many friends.  His happiest times were the times he spent on the river with his grandson and friends, and the times spent a Lake Texoma with his family. PD held a special place in his heart and enjoyed many happy years with Dusty, Summer, Dakota Shaw, and Quentin Cardenaz. He is survived by his mother, Norma Splawn of Konawa, one daughter, Mysti Splawn of Wewoka, Oklahoma; two sisters, Pamela Pellessier of Norman, Oklahoma, and Debbie Splawn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Allison Frazier, and Tanner Wood; three step-children, Timothy Harjo of Maud, Oklahoma, Stace Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Brandy Harjo of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul C. Splawn in 1968.
