Pauline (Flanery) Phillips

Pauline "Polly" Phillips, age 75 and a resident of Seminole County, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. A Memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Tabernacle Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.  Bill Chesser will officiate and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma. Polly was born May 10, 1940 in Riverside, California to Clifford Robert Flanery and Betty Marie (Wright) Flanery.  She graduated from high school and worked as a school bus driver.  She married James Lawerence Phillips, Sr. on May 23, 1961 in Bakersfield, California.  She loved taking care of her birds, sewing, cross stitch, and quilting. She also enjoyed sewing clothes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, making cakes and cooking.  She most of all loved her family.  She lived in many places until she made her home in Wewoka seventeen years ago.  She was the "rock" of her family and loved by all who met her. She is survived by her husband, James Lawerence Phillips, Sr. of the home; two sons, Mickey Lynn Hughes and wife, Sarah of Wewoka, and James Lawerence Phillips, Jr. of Wewoka; two daughters, Elizabeth Kitty Marie Shakeshaft and husband, Frederick of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Robin LeAnn Olsavshy and husband, Matthew of Cambridge, Maryland; three sisters, Peggy Miles of Fresno, California, Patricia Orchid and husband, Jimmie of Magnolia, Texas, and Pamala Moore and husband, Bob of Fresno, California; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Johnnie T. Silva, III. Funeral Information: May 12, 2016, 3:00 PM A Memorial service at Cornerstone Tabernacle Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home located at 1001 N. Milt Phillips Ave., Seminole, OK 74868
