Paul Splawn

Paul Edward Splawn, 64 year old Prague resident and oilman went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at his home in Prague. He was born September 14, 1942 at Loomis Air Force Base in Loomis, California to parents Luther Edward "Newt" Splawn and Edith Evelyn (Jordan) Splawn.rnrnPaul graduated from Bristow High School in 1960. He then married the love of his life Phyllis June Barnfield on July 30, 1960 in Bristow, Oklahoma.rnrnSplawn served in the United States Air Force for 12 years earning the rank of Staff Sgt. during the Vietnam era.rnrnPaul returned home to live in Maud for 13 years and 20 year in Prague.rnrnPaul leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Splawn of the home in Prague, Oklahoma.rnrnTwo sons, Dennis and his wife Lisa Splawn of McAlester, Oklahoma and Darryl Splawn and Katie Huntman of Saint Louis, Oklahoma.rnrnFour grandchildren; Jessica, Derick, Chris & wife Kristi and Darryn Splawn.rnrnPaul is also survived by a host of other family and friends.rnrnPaul was preceded in death by his parents, Newt and Edith Splawn and by one grandson, Darryl Paul Splawn who died in 1984.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Prague, Oklahoma.rnBrother Tim Emmons and Brother Glenn Peck will officiate the service.rnrnInterment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma with military honors.rnrnCasket Bearers will be; Josh Williams - Ernest Reynolds - Kevin Goldsby - Chris Anderson - Larry Watkins and Randy Ledbetter.rnrnHonorary Bearers will be all of Paul's friend who meant so much to him and the list is too long to name names but you know who you are.rnrnThe family request that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Reserch Foundation in Memory of Paul for Heart research.rnrnOklahoma Medical Research Foundation - 825 Northeast 13th Street - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home - 100 West Strothers Ave. - Seminole, Oklahoma 74868rnPhone: 405-382-3456.
