Patricia Joan Newell

Patricia Joan (Hammond) Newell was born on January 2, 1934, and passed from this world on January 3, 2019. She was the only child born to Louis and Margaret Hammond in Independence, Kansas. The family moved to Seminole, Oklahoma, in 1945 where Pat attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1954. She also attended Seminole Junior College for 2 years. She then worked in Shawnee, Oklahoma at Sylvania Electric Company until she and Raymond were married on February 1, 1962. Surviving family includes her husband Raymond of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, their only son Ray Newell and wife Debbie of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, granddaughters Sarah Newell of Plano, Texas, Jenny Williams and husband Zoope of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, one great granddaughter Raylee Williams, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her many beloved brothers  sisters in Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Walnut Avenue Church of Christ, in Seminole, Oklahoma to fund local evangelistic efforts. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Terry Newell officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
