Pamela Stanfill, a cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted member of the Seminole community, left this world peacefully in her home on December 28th, 2024, at the age of 66.
Born on December 19th, 1958, in Los Banos, California, to John and Eunice Stanfill, Pamela grew up as the youngest girl of ten children, moving to Seminole during her grade school years.
She graduated with pride from Seminole High School in 1977. Following her studies, she enlisted in the United States Navy in 1978 and was stationed at Midway Island. While she has countless wonderful memories from her military service, her decision to leave the Navy was driven by her desire to embrace motherhood and dedicate herself to her family, resulting in her honorable discharge in 1981.
Pamela dedicated herself to raising her three sons, ensuring they had everything they needed while juggling two jobs and managing the household. She took immense pride in seeing all three graduate from her alma mater, and again when they each made the commitment to serve in the military. Later in life, Pamela would go back to school, receiving her associates degree at Seminole State College and then her bachelor's degree at East Central University. Pamela was always an extremely hard worker and worked until her she physically couldn’t anymore.
Being a mother was one of her greatest joys, but being a grandmother brought her even more happiness. Pamela cherished her grandchildren deeply, always wishing the best for them. Alongside the time she devoted to caring for them in their early years, she actively participated in their lives as they grew, attending countless school programs, concerts, football games, basketball games, track meets, and events. More often than not, Pamela, or 'MiMi’ to her grandkids, was the loudest one in the stands. Mimi had often shared her enthusiasm and motivation for witnessing the graduation of her four "middle" grandkids as Chieftains in 2026, already planning to mark her favorite spot by the northwest end zone at Chieftain Stadium.
Pamela was a passionate and savvy sports enthusiast, sharing this love and knowledge with her sons and grandchildren. Her devotion to the Sooners, the Chieftains, and the Atlanta Braves was unparalleled. She rarely missed any kind of game her teams were playing. A true social butterfly, Pamela thrived on meeting new people and cherished conversations about her grandchildren and Sooner football.
Pamela is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eunice Stanfill, as well as her sister, Kathy Shaw (Stanfill), and her brother, David Stanfill. She is survived by her sons: Shane Stanfill and his wife, Shanell, of Seminole; Daniel Stanfill and his wife, Marcie, of Seminole; and Jack Stanfill of Seminole. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Logun, Mason, Rhyella, Olivia, Ryeley, Ruxin, and Bearic. Her surviving siblings include sisters Joyce Benn, Gina Stanfill, and Mona Stanfill, along with brothers Randy, Jimmy, Johnny, and Roger Stanfill. Pamela also leaves a multitude of nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial celebration honoring Pamela will take place on Sunday, January 5th, at 2:00 PM in Seminole at the Municipal Community Room at 1605 N. Main St. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to B.A.C.A of Oklahoma at PO Box 580084, Tulsa, OK 74158-0084.
