Ormal Dee Wilkerson

Ormal Dee Wilkerson, 72 year-old, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Friday, August 23, 2013 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was born April 16, 1941 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Hershel Woodrow Wilkerson and Lois Lee (Summers) Wilkerson. Wilkerson graduated from Seminole High School in 1962 and went on to join the United States Army Reserve. On December 9, 1986 he married Diana Nadine (Hodges) Wilkerson in Gainesville, Texas. The couple attended the Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church in Seminole. Wilkerson retired from the United States Army Reserve.  He also retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic.  Mr. Wilkerson had a tremendous knowledge about military aircraft.  He later worked for about five years at the Trading Post Casino. Mr. Wilkerson loved to fish all of the Oklahoma lakes and always had very interesting stories to tell.  Most of all he was a wonderful caring, loving, husband, father, brother, papa, and friend who will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife of almost 27 years, Diana Wilkerson of the home; two sons, Kelly Wilkerson of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Billy Barneck of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters, Shelly Wilkerson of Salt Lake City, Utah and Leslie Gregg of Konawa, Oklahoma; one brother, Jimmie Wilkerson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one uncle, Delbert Bullard of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one aunt, Hazel Summers of Seminole, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, Courtney Gregg, Derrick Gregg, (Twins) Abbie Barneck and Julie Barneck, Megan Barneck, Eli Barneck, Jason Loving, Kelsey Loving, and Sidney Loving; he is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Mr. Wilkerson went to Heaven to be reunited with family who has gone before including his parents; one son, Loren Dee Wilkerson; one brother, Elroy Wilkerson; his mother and father-in-law; and a host of other family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Pastor Pat Coffey will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole. Casket bearers will be, Gil Madron, Billy Barneck, Jason Loving, Larry Bullard, Jeff Wilkerson and Mike Wilkerson. Honorary bearers will be, Gerald Huff and Bill Reese.
