Opal Imogene Crabtree, 90, Seminole resident and former Howe, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Friday, November 17, 2023 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Opal was born on October 19, 1933 in Howe, Oklahoma to her parents, William Angus Thrift and Ada (Ary) Thrift.
Opal spent the majority of her life in the Howe, Oklahoma area and after moving to the Seminole area she worked for 16 years at the Wrangler Plant in Seminole, Oklahoma. Opal loved reading and studying her bible and was a strong prayer warrior.
Opal married James Crabtree on September 27, 1951 in Greenwood, Arkansas.
Opal is survived by her sons: David Crabtree of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kenny Crabtree and his wife Debiee Crabtree of Howe, Oklahoma, her daughter; Carol Houck and her husband Dwayne Houck of Seminole, Oklahoma, five grandsons and one granddaughter, eleven great grandchildren, her sister Gertrude Shankal of Cedarville, Arkansas and also by a special friend, Kim Middleton.
Opal is preceded in death by her husband James Crabtree who died on January 27, 2020 and her son Dale Crabtree.
The family would life to give a special thank you to the Seminole Care and Rehab Center and Emerald Hospice for their great care of Opal.
Graveside services are planned for Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Howe Cemetery in Howe, Oklahoma, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Local arrangements and visitation are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
