Ona Woody, 92 year-old, lifelong Seminole County resident passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Ona was born January 14, 1917 North of Seminole to parents Edward and Maggie (Rebeck) Spoonemore. Ona married Malcolm Woody July 9, 1936 in Little, Oklahoma. She was involved with 4-H Club and Home Demonstration Club in the Varnum Community. She was a member of the Assemblies of God, and attended Seminole First Assembly. She enjoyed working in her garden, tending her flowers and she loved little children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Darrell Logue; and three brothers, Chalmer, Cecil and Raymond Spoonemore. Ona leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Bill McHugh of Walnut Creek, California, Kathy and Jack Burton of Sacramento, California; one son, Wendell Woody of Seminole, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery North of Seminole. Rev. Doyle Long will officiate the service. Casket Bearers will be: Larry Spoonemore, Cecil Spoonemore, Jeff Logue, Jim Brown, Tyler Brown and Dana Harris.
