Oarten Hale “Oartie” Anderson, 68 year-old longtime Seminole resident passed from this life on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Midwest City Regional Medical Center. He was born October 17, 1944 in Sterling, Colorado to parents Johnie E. Anderson and Cora Ella (Josh) Anderson, both parents preceded him in death. In the mid 1970’s Oartie served as under sheriff in Douglas, Wyoming for several years. He later moved from Casper, Wyoming to Seminole where he opened his own wrecker service named “Oartie’s Wrecker Service,” which he owned and operated until his death. On October 11, 2005 he married Treva Joyce (Barnhart) in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Oartie is survived by his wife Treva Anderson of the home; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and his wife Dana Anderson of Seminole, Oklahoma, Robert Anderson of Seminole, Oklahoma, Oarten Anderson, Jr. who is serving in the United States Army; three step-daughters, Shannon House of Seminole, Oklahoma, Robin Northern of Moore, Oklahoma, Jennifer and her husband Brian Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Oartie was also the youngest of 11 children. Other survivors include several grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Pastor Earnest Lee Brown (grandson-in-law) officiating the service.
