Norma Wildcat

Norma June Wildcat 76, life long Seminole county resident passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Midwest City Regional Hospital, Midwest City, Oklahoma.   Norma was born on June 19, 1933 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Wesley and Susie (Ross) Tanyan. Norman was the granddaughter of Hettie Harjo Larney and Chili Ross.   Norma was a member of the Tallahassee Indian Presbyterian Church, of the Cheyarha Band and the Sweet Potato Clan.   Norma was preceded in death by her husband; Bennie Wildcat, parents; Wesley and Susie, sister; Ella Mae Tiger, and brother, Ben Tanyan.   Norma is survived by her two sons; Justin Jay Wildcat, Wilburn “Chuck” Wildcat both of Seminole, Oklahoma, four daughters; Judy Culbertson of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Sondra Akkasiriskul of Bangkok, Thailand, Phyllis Bel Fellah of Springfield, Illinois, and Mable Marshall of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, two sisters, Alline Freddie Billie of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Irene Harjo of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, two brothers, Ramsey Tanyan of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ron Tanyan of Muskogee, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.   A wake service is scheduled from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Sweringen Funeral Home Chapel.   Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with TJ Fixico and Bill Hobia officiating and followed by interment at the Tanyan Family Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma.   Serving as pallbearers will be: Tyler Harjo, Dakota Harjo, Dominic Cloud, John Tanyan, Wesley Tanyan, Bruce Akkasiriskul, Casey Wildcat, James Marshall and Dion Wildcat. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bennie Culverson, Bud Akkasiriskul, Thomas Lee Billie, Jr., Tom Harjo, Justin Jay Wildcat and Chuck Wildcat.     Funeral Information: November 23, 2009, 2:00 PM Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel located at 1001 N.
