Norma Casteel

Norma Lee (Baker) Casteel, 88 year-old, lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life on October 30, 2012 at Sienna Care and Rehabilitation Center in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born August 6, 1924 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma to parents Albert Aaron Baker and Della Mae (Robb) Baker. On May 20, 1939 Norma married Orval Casteel east of Shawnee.  Then following college she worked as an L.P.N. at Shawnee Regional Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma until her retirement.  Norma was also of the Baptist faith. Norma leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Royce Davis of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Patricia and James Fowler of Plano, Texas and Kathy and Rick Crosby of Choctaw, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Jeanette Casteel of Harrison, Arkansas; one son-in-law, Cecil Bergsten of Shawnee, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of other family and dear friends. Norma was preceded in death by; her father, Albert Baker; her mother, Della (Robb) Baker; her husband, Orval Casteel (1998); one daughter, Mary Bergsten; three brothers, Chester Blaylock, Lloyd Blaylock and John Byford.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rosa Ring and Renolda Willis and by two great-grandsons, Cole Crosby and Andrew Bergsten. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Scott Fenton officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole on Hwy. 377. The casket will remain open until service time and will not be open following the service. Casket bearers will be: (Grandsons) Joseph Fowler, Murphy Crosby, John Davis, Lucas Casteel, Steve Bergsten and Dave Bergsten. Honorary bearers will be: Jim Kanske, Donald Collins, James Pfeffer, Martin Harder, Ozzie Jenison, Royce Davis, James Fowler, Rick Crosby and Cecil Bergsten.
