Nettie Crawford

Nettie Gertrude (Cain) Crawford, 96 year-old, long time Maud resident passed from this life Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Sunset Estates Care Center in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was born August 15, 1911 in Westminster, Texas to parents Samuel David Cain and Ethel (Box) Cain. Nettie moved to Maud with her parents in 1923. She married Custer C. Crawford on October 25, 1930 in Maud.rnrnNettie worked as a cook at George?s Caf? and then at the Maud Nursing Home. She retired in the early 1980?s. Nettie was also member of the Maud Church of Christ for many years.rnrnSurvivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Loretta Bowder of Moore, Oklahoma and Mary and her husband Oda Winter of Seminole, Oklahoma. Two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Crawford of Maud, Oklahoma and Lee and his wife Artie Crawford of Maud, Oklahoma. One brother, Wiley Cain of Muldrow, Oklahoma and by one sister, Oletta Watkins of Omak, Washington.rnrnAlso surviving are 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 34 great great grandchildren.rnrnNettie is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Ethel Cain, her husband Custer Crawford (11/18/1989), four brothers, R.D. Cain, Henry Cain, Bennie Cain and Clinton Cain, and by two grandchildren, Traci Horn and Debra Bowder.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma. Frank Brewer will officiate the service.
