Neal Jay Guinn

Neal Jay Guinn, 61 year old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, September 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born January 12, 1957 in Eric, Oklahoma to parents Albert Jay Guinn and June (Dorman) Guinn. Neal graduated in 1975 from Maud High School.  Neal worked as a utility worker for OG&E for several years until his retirement in 2008.  He also raised cattle and was a horse rancher. On January 3, 1980 Neal married Sheryl (Damron) Guinn in Maud, Oklahoma. Neal was a member of the Maud Round-up Club and held several different offices in the club.  He also loved to break horses and spend time with his grandchildren. Neal leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 38 years, Sheryl Guinn of the home; one son, T.J. Guinn of Maud, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Marcie and Kurt Dustman of Maud, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Kaden Dustman, Maddie Dustman, Keaton Dustman and Ashton Guinn.  Neal is also survived by a host of other dear family and friends. Neal was preceded by his father, Albert Guinn; his mother, June Guinn; by one sister, Karla Guinn.  He is also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud. Gregg Goss will be officiating the service, Pastor Butch Bradley, and Brandon Crossley will be assisting.  Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Brandon Crossley, T.J. Guinn, Ashton Guinn, Kaden Dustman, Tommy King “T.K.” and Jeff Lucy. Honorary Bearers will be: Barry O’Daniel, Keith Strickland, Gabby Hayes and Kurt Dustman. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
