Nathaniel Buchanan

Nathaniel Clint Buchanan, 31 year-old Shawnee resident passed from this life Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Shawnee.  He was born March 17, 1980 in Portsmouth, Virginia to parents Judy Raye (Courtney) Buchanan and Billy Hank Buchanan. Nathaniel graduated from Shawnee High School in 1998 he went on to continue his education at Seminole State College where he earned his associates degree.  He was currently working toward his masters degree while working as the assistant manager at Domino’s Pizza in Shawnee. Nathaniel married Christina (Jackson) Buchanan on August 2, 2003 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  The couple was married at Bible Temple Church in Shawnee where Nathaniel had served as youth leader then as pastor of the Church.  The Church is now known as Free Indeed Revival Ministries where Guy Cagle is now the pastor, Nathaniel and his family have continued to be very involved with the Church family. He loved his Lord and his family, he also had a passion for leading people to the Lord. He is survived by his wife Christina (Jackson) Buchanan of the home; three sons, Michael Buchanan (age 6), Trent Buchanan (age 4), Matthew Cook (age 13); one daughter, Amanda Cook (age 11) all of the home; his mother, Judy Buchanan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; three brothers, Brian Buchanan and Shane Buchanan both of Griffin, Georgia and Aaron Buchanan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Nathaniel is preceded in death by his father, Billy Hank Buchanan and by his grandparents, Ben and Vera Courtney. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Guy Cagle officiating.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be:  Caleb Eddings, Dave Powis, Shane Buchanan, Cody Hishaw, Jeremy Bailey and Coby Plamer. Honorary bearers will be; Heather Courtney and Michael Maxon. Memorial donations may be made to Nathaniel Buchanan Memorial Fund at BancFirst. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
