Naomi DeLois Raffety was born in Holdenville, OK on December 28, 1927, to Addie Bell and Grover Bottoms. Her childhood was spent around Seminole, OK as well as a year in Seattle, Washington at the age of 12. On Christmas Day, 1944, she married Lawrence Arlington Raffety, a marriage which lasted 54 years until his death in 1998.
Naomi went to sleep in Jesus on January 20, 2025, at 97 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Leste Bottoms, and wife Verna, Garrell Bottoms, and Lloyd Bottoms, one grandson, Aaron Gates, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Jane Raffety.
Naomi leaves behind her children, Robert Raffety (Priscilla), Clyde Raffety, Marilyn Gates (Phillip), ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Julia Fairbanks (Ronnie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Quilting, embroidering, sewing, and painting were some of Naomi’s creative endeavors. She loved camping, fishing, water skiing, bowling and visiting and traveling around the United States, England, and Norway.
Naomi’s presence and loving care will be missed by her children and their families and her beloved friends. She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and maintained a close relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Services will be Monday, January 27, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole, OK, with Stanley Buckmaster officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
