Nancy Yvonne Gentry-Permetter was born January 4, 1950 in Durant, OK to parents Jack Walton Gentry and Sylvia Sue (Talley) Gentry. They both preceded Nancy in death. At age one Nancy and her parents moved to Bixby, Oklahoma where Nancy attending school graduating in 1968. In 1969 Nancy graduated from Tulsa Academy of Hairstyling. The first love of Nancy’s life was born February 4, 1970 in Biloxi, Mississippi, her oldest son Cregg Dale Webb. The second love of Nancy’s life was born March 18, 1973, her youngest son, Anthony Robert Webb. Nancy loved her two boys with all her heart and soul.
Nancy and Donald Ray Permetter married February 23, 1995. Donald was the source of her life. She loved him with all her heart. Donald and Nancy built their home together in 1996. Her hobbies were making their home beautiful inside and out. Working in their yard and growing flowers. Nancy could never have too many flowers.
Nancy retired from the Department of Human Services in 2005 working there 25 years.
Together Donald and Nancy welcome eight grand children and three great grandchildren, Bryan Webb, Braden Webb, Darian Permetter, Austen Webb, McKenzie Webb, Kameron Permetter, Darice Permetter, and Allicea Permetter. Great grandchildren, Brylan Webb, Brytan Webb, and Harper Kinley Webb. Left to carry on are Donald Ray Permetter, husband, sons Cregg Dale Webb-Kristie, Anthony Robert Webb-Kristi, sister Georgia Sue Gentry-Jackson. Step children Keyon Permetter-Elizabeth, Dominic Permetter-Keri, and Anglic Permetter. Two close cousins, Jan Ham-Dana, Mike McKissack-Lynda, several nieces and nephews.
Nancy wanted to leave everyone with some words of advice that her father left her. Always strive to do better and always leave things better than you found it. Never quit and never give up. Most of all, never be satisfied always strive to have more if it’s nothing but a rose bush for your yard. Keep faith in God and He will see you through.
Services will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, with Tony Peak officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
