Nan Yvonne Cave, 82, Seminole resident died, Monday, October 7, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Nan was born September 6, 1931 in Decatur, Arkansas to Lester and Eula (Randolph) Corbin. Nan grew up in Decatur, Arkansas where she attended Decatur High School and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class in 1948. She was awarded a teaching scholarship upon graduation, but her passion was nursing. Nan became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and made her career as a nurse working in Arizona, Texas, and Missouri until retirement. Nan is survived by her son, Ed Cave of Seminole, Oklahoma, daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Richard Bateman of Seminole; five grandchildren, Ginger Simmons, Michelle Glaske, Scott Cave, Amy Shellmire, and Heidi Bateman; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Texanna, Anthony, Nicole, Kierra, D’Andrea, Jayden; four great-great grandchildren, Emily, Samantha, Nehemiah, Izzabella; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gerald Corbin and his wife Mary of Decatur, Arkansas, Stanley Corbin and his wife Vicki of Tucson, Arizona and sister-in-law Agnes Corbin of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Iris Mayor and her husband Bill of Lee’s Summitt, Missouri, Wanda Bunch and her husband Glenn of Sun City, Arizona, Peggy Sweetland  and her husband Ed of Wichita, Kansas, Kathy Corbin and her husband Ed of Edgar Springs, Missouri.  Nan was the oldest of eight children.  She had a very special individual relationship with each one of her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Flenoy Cave, a grandson, Christopher Michael Taylor, and her brother, Thurman Corbin. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday October 11, 2013 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma with Rev. Doyle O. Long officiating. There will be a visitation for the family to receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 to 7:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
