Rovan Jenkins was born on March 13, 1937 to Vina Jefferson Cochren and Sonny Morrison in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rovan was the Fifth oldest of 13 children. Rovan attended school in the Tallahassee Community-Seminole, Oklahoma. Rovan met and married Floyd Jenkins and they were married for 48 years until his passing. They had one child. Her daughter preceded her in death, Joyce (Stella)Ann Garrett. Rovan worked for various school systems as a dietician before she became a full time homemaker. Rovan was very active in the church and loved working in the church kitchen. She was a very loving woman, who loved and lived her life for God. She had a heart for people and loved inviting them into her home for fellowship. She leaves to cherish her loving memory granddaughters, Mia Spring and Marisa Garrett as well as great granddaughter Sharee Garrett all of Englewood, CO. 4 sisters and 3 brothers: Christine Wimbush, Dora (Buster) Thomas, Tillie Mae Bizzell, LuRetta (Darrel) Hornsby, Denver (Tommie Jean) Malone, Richard (Cleo) Cochren, Bennie (Juanita) Cochren and a host of nephews, niece’s, cousins and friends. She is proceeded by husband Floyd Jenkins, daughter Joyce (Stella) Garrett, mother Vina Jefferson Cochren, father Sonny Morrison and sisters Clemmien (clemmie) Daniels, Demple Tillie, Dianne Lewis and brother Clemmon (sockman) Morrison. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Larkin Byrd and Rev. Clive Cochran officiating the service. Interment will follow at Sasachawa Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
