Mildred Heath Parks passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Seminole Estates Rehab Center at the age of 83. rn rnMildred Heath Parks was born on June 9, 1925 in Louisville, Kentucky, to James L. and Ora Alice Kelley Heath. During the late 30's, the Heath family moved to Idabel, Oklahoma, where Mildred graduated from Idabel High School in 1944. After graduation, Mildred pursued a career in secretarial and office work by working as a secretary at the Idabel Gazette Newspaper. She was installed into the Eastern Star, 1945-1946 at the age of 21, in Idabel, Oklahomarn rnShe then moved to Holdenville, Oklahoma, and accepted a position as secretary at the First Baptist Church of Holdenville, Oklahoma. She then met and married the love of her life, Phillip Parks, in August 11, 1950, and moved to Seminole, where she and Phillip made their home together for 57 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole. They became parents to three daughters, Regina, Ann, and Kelly. Mildred, known affectionately as "Millie" worked with her husband Phillip at Parks Drug as both a pharmacy technician and as a secretary/bookkeeper, until her declining health forced her to retire in 2001. rn rnMildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband Phillip on June 19, 2007, her parents, Ora Alice & James L. Heath, three brothers, Edward Kelly Heath, James L. Heath, Jr., Robert W. Heath, and one sister, Eloise Heath Wisdom. rn rnMildred is survived by two sisters, Mable Bullard (Mildred's twin sister) of Heavener, OK; and Dorothy Collins of Westminster, Colorado. She is also survived by three daughters, Ann Black, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Regina Carnazzo, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Kelly Holland, of Omaha, Nebraska. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, John Phillip Black, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Jason Hays of Omaha, Nebraska, Jennifer Hays of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Phillip and Patrick Holland of Omaha, Nebraska. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Clora Heath, and her daughter Laura Roszak and husband Joe, and their son, Josh Roszak. Millie is also survived by several other very special nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mildred is also survived by special employees of Parks Drug and special friends, Celeste Goodnight, Carol Williams, and Cheryl Morrison, who have become part of her extended family, as well as many other dear and loyal friends in the community.
