James Michael “Mike” Robins, 68 year old longtime Pearson and Saint Louis, Oklahoma area resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Noble, Oklahoma. Mike was born October 17, 1946 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents Betty Lou (Hutchinson) Robins and James Mitchell Robins. Mike was raised by his grandmother, Pearl Robins who was the Postmistress at Pearson Post Office. Mike graduated from Saint Louis High School located in Saint Louis, Oklahoma in 1964. Following High School Mike worked a Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Saint Louis First Baptist Church in Saint Louis, Oklahoma. Following his employment at Tinker Air Force Base, Mike pursued his carrier as a self-employed custom painter. He was always held in high regard for his paint jobs on everything from funny cars, monster trucks, motorcycles, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He worked exclusively for the Honda Corporation during the 1980’s then exclusively for Harley Davidson since 2000. In 2006 he was commissioned by Graceland to paint 30 Harley Davidson Motorcycles to commemorate the 30th year of Elvis’s death. Mike painted other notable monster trucks including the, “The Black Gold,” and the “Oklahoman”. He also had painted custom Harley Davidsons for, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, Sammy Kershaw, Lori Morgan, Jim Belushi, Doug Stone, and for the C.E.O. of Southwest Airlines, Herb Keller. Mike was a 32nd Degree Mason and a former Shriner. He was also a proud member of Hamsters USA, which is a group of custom motorcycle builders from around the world that you only become a member by invitation. Mike leaves to cherish his memory one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy (Robins) Crownover and her husband Jeff of Norman, Oklahoma, one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Robins and his wife Jana of Norman, Oklahoma, one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Lounge and his wife Emily of Yukon, Oklahoma, one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie Dudo and her husband Bob of New London, Texas, Mike is also survived by four grandchildren who he loved with all of his heart, Madison Robins, Molly Robins, Avery Robins and Lindy Crownover. Mike is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou (Hutchinson)-Lounge, by his father, James Mitchell Robins, by his step-father, Whitney Lounge, and by his grandmother who raised him, Pearl Robins. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Glenn Peck will officiate the service.
