Myrtle Ruth ?Midge? Hewitt was born August 21, 1916 in Lovell, Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Her parents were Laura Ella (Foreman) Stealey and John W. Stealey. She attended school at Beggs, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1934. As a Senior there, she won a scholarship to business school, but chose instead to become a homemaker.rnrnShe married Cecil Shull on October 7, 1934. Cecil preceded her in death in 1969, she then later married Melvin Howard Hewitt of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; he was a specialty welder in the pipeline construction industry. Together, they traveled widely throughout the United States and abroad on various pipeline projects, including a stay of over six months in Holland. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1980.rnrnMidge loved her Lord and taught Sunday School Classes, from youth to adults, over a period of years. At the time of her death she was a member of Immanuel Fellowship Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. She had also worked at the ?Silk Purse? women?s clothing store in Seminole during the 1970?s and 1980?s.rnrnShe leaves to cherish her memory, two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jim W. Shull of Shawnee, Oklahoma and John P. Shull and his wife Judy of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul J. Stealey and his wife Donna of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Owen Davis of Prague, Oklahoma; she is also survived by three grandchildren and their spouses: Victoria and Tony Knox of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Darren and Dawn Shull of Seminole, Oklahoma and Misty Dawn and Ray Lemmings of Konawa, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren include: Blade and Coalton Knox, Gage and Whitney Shull and Skylier and Tommy Lemmings, plus four other step-grandchildren.rnrnMidge was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one sister, Syble "Momma" Soule, formerly of Bowlegs and by one brother, Raymond Stealey.rnrnFuneral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
