Michael Steven Johnson

Michael Steven "Mike" Johnson, age 55 and a resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away suddenly Friday morning, January 26, 2018 in Seminole. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.  Ray Don and Alan Wade Johnson will officiate and Rev. Jeff Nance will assist.  The family will greet guests and friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 29th.  Mike (known to most of his friends and family as Mikey or Big Mike) was born February 14, 1962 in Chandler, Arizona to Clarence Edward Johnson and Martha Ann (Cartwright) Johnson.  He graduated from Pleasant Grove, and he was currently a jailer for Seminole County where he highly valued the facility and his co-workers.  Mike was also very patriotic and served in the ROTC during high school, and he proudly served his country in the National Guard of Seminole from June, 1982 until January, 1987.  Mike has been a truck driver for almost all of his life, and a Correctional Officer at CCA Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville for over ten.  He met fellow officer and co-worker, Teth Ayin Hayes, and they were married On June 21, 2002 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, taking care of his family, watching documentaries, tinkering in general, and living life in the moment.  He loved his family and friends and they loved him. He is survived by his wife of almost 16 years, Teth A. Johnson of the home; his loving mother, Martha Ann Johnson of Seminole; two brothers, Ray Don Johnson of Arkansas, and Alan Wade Johnson and wife, Denise also of Arkansas; and two sisters, Teresa Horton of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Brenda Johnson of Seminole; father-in-law, Tim Hayes and wife, Terry of Seminole; mother-in-law, Jean Lawrence of the home (who thought of him as a son); numerous nieces and nephews; his best friends, Nick and Twila Pepe of Maud, Oklahoma and their children, Nickel Pepe, Meghan Coleman, and Aiden Pepe.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Edward Johnson; and paternal grandparents, Goldie and Edward Johnson and his maternal grandparents, Viola and Archie Riddle.
