Merle Sims

Merle Leland Sims Seminole resident Merle Sims passed away at the age of 71, Sunday, November 29, 2009 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Merle was born September 26, 1938 to parents Charles Merle and Dorsa Lee (Rose) Sims. Merle graduated from Varnum High School in 1957. In his early years Merle worked as an auto mechanic then later he worked in the printing industry as a press operator for Ebsco Industry. Most of Merle’s live was spent in Seminole County. Merle was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorsa by brother Coy Sims and infant son Johnny Merle Sims. Merle is survived by sons: Donny Sims and his wife Nora of Newalla, Oklahoma and Randy and his wife Sharon Sims of Seminole, Oklahoma. By daughters: Sherry and her husband Bryan Keisman of Seminole, Oklahoma and Teresa and her husband Bill Winkle of Oklahoma. Merle also survived by brothers: Charles and his wife Faye Sims, Starr and his wife Emily Sims and Roy Sims all of Seminole, Oklahoma and Harold and his wife Merna Sims of Houston Texas. Also survived by nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Merle will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Little Cemetery, Little Oklahoma. Serving as Casket bearers are: Marty Hudson, Christopher Keisman, Bryan Keisman, Randy Sims, Donny Sims and Brandon Sims.
