Mentora “Peaches” (Roberts) Burdine-Hood, lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away at the age of 88 on November 24, 2020. She was born November 9, 1932 in Seminole County to parents Jake Roberts and Martha (Jackson) Roberts. She was one of 12 children and she was the last one to pass away. She married Willie Hood in 1995.
She worked for many Seminole families in Seminole over the years and they loved her very much. She was baptized in 1962 at Scipio Baptist Church. She was very active in church work all her adult life. She was a current member of the First Assembly of God Church in Seminole. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and was a Pink Lady at the Seminole Hospital for many years until her death.
Mentora leaves to cherish her memory her sons; Albert and Kevin Burdine, daughters; Verla Coleman and Felicia Pledger, brother; Rev. T. J. Roberts and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Floyd Burdine and her second husband, Willie Hood.
Viewing for Mentora will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 3 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Jackson Family Cemetery northwest of Wewoka with her son Kevin Burdine officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
