Memorial services for longtime Seminole resident, Melton Earnest is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2007 at the First Assembly of God in Bowlegs with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnMelton passed away on Friday April 6, 2007 at Seminole Medical Center at the age 73. He was born July 28, 1933 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Thomas Henry and Buelah Mae (Hicks) Earnest. He married Deloris (Dodson) on May 2, 1986. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1956. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Bowlegs. He was active in teaching Sunday school and was the leader of the Royal Rangers at Little Assembly of God. He worked as a pump technician for Oklahoma Pump Company for eleven years. He loved woodworks.rnrnHe is survived by his wife Deloris Earnest of the home, one son, Terry Allen Earnest, four daughters: Tersa Lynn Earnest, Tonie Ruth Evans, Cindy Fleming of Seminole, and Beth Turner of Seminole, five sisters; Naomi Coons of Brea, California, Mary Scovel of Placerville, ID, Betty Sande of Trabuco Canyon, California, Patsy Light of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Faith Cinko of Yuma, AZ, three brothers: Cecil Earnest of Pahrump, NV, Jimmy Earnest of Hutchinson, KS, and Sammy Earnest of Aurora, Colorado.
