Melodie McGregor

Melodie Marie McGregor, 57 Melodie Marie McGregor, lifelong Seminole resident, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 57. Melodie was born July 20, 1959 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Alonzo Newton and Wilhelmina (Williams) Newton. She married Hayward McGregor on July 14, 1995 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Melodie graduated from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. After graduation she worked at the Department of Human Services as a social worker and retired after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Immanuel Fellowship Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. Melodie is survived by husband, Haywood McGregor of the home; three sons, Jason Ashley Shannon and his fiance’ Chelesa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Preston Shavar McGregor and his wife Ashley of Seminole, Oklahoma, Anthony Leroy Louie and his wife Lauranna of Shawnee, Oklahoma; special son, Dake Reese; two brothers, Alonzo Newton, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma, Troy Newton of Seminole, Oklahoma; special cousin, Gilbert Reese and six grandchildren. Melodie was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Wilhelmina Newton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday January 20, 2017 at Immanuel Fellowship Church of Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Tim Tate officiating. Burial will take place at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Dake Reese, Jarrod Reese, Alvin Fabre II, Gilbert Reese, Wendell Reese and Eddie Louie, Jr.. Honorary casket bearers are: Reggie Wright, Donnell Jackson, Kevin Woodfork, Adrian Newton and Glen Street. Flower girls are Yolanda Johnson, Casandra Johnson, Kay Stillwell, Rena Louie, Karen Reese and Paulette Reese.
