Melissa Ann Trevizo, 52, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident died Sunday, June 18, 2017 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Melissa was born January 19, 1965 in Oakland, California to Henry Hicks Jr. and Geneva Fixico. Melissa was a former resident of Seminole, Oklahoma and was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. She worked as a daycare assistant for many years, she loved to read, gardening, try new recipes, and spending time with her family. Melissa was a generous person and felt deeply for those she called her friends and family. She tried every day to live life and treat people the way God wanted her to. During her last days she wanted her family to be happy for her because she was happy. She didn’t want people to be sad for her. Melissa is survived by her mother Geneva Fixico of Shawnee, Oklahoma, her daughters Jessimia Dawn Sanchez Hicks, and Alexandria Magdalene Hicks both of Shawnee, Oklahoma, two brothers Henry Hicks III and Thomas Wayne Hicks both of Shawnee, Oklahoma and her sister Angela Sue Hicks of Shawnee, Oklahoma and one granddaughter Antionette Lee Hicks of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father Henry Hicks, Jr. and her grandmother Magdalene Fixico. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Snake Creek Indian Baptist Church with Bill Hobia and Pastor Joe Wilkes officiating. Burial will be in the Snake Creek Church Cemetery. Casket bearers will Antonio Hicks, Daniel Torres, Henry Hicks IV, Darren Fixico, Austin Satepauhoodle and Patrick Martinez. Honorary bearers will be Henry Hicks III, Thomas Hicks, Loren Fixico, Steve Johnson and Jackson Lane.
