Melanie Pahke Stone, 39, Konawa, Oklahoma resident, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Konawa. Melanie was born on November 9, 1975 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Harold Dean Stone and Karen Sue Miller. Melanie attended and graduated from Strother High School in 1994 and from Seminole State College with an associate’s degree in 2010. She worked in Child Care as a teacher until her illness kept her from working any more. She was working at the Central Tribe of the Shawnee Area in Shawnee. She loved music, was an avid Facebooker and OSU  Fan. She was preceded in death by her father Harold D. Stone in 2014, paternal grandparents Moses Sarber and Abeline Sarber and maternal grandparents Irene and Dixie Miller. She is survived by her mother, Karen Miller of Seminole, Oklahoma, daughter Darah Harjo of the Home, son Shea Stone of the Home, sisters Christine D. Stone of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Amanda Larney of Shawnee, Oklahoma, brother Steven D. Stone of Seminole, Oklahoma, nieces Iciss T. Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Brooklyn Stone of Seminole, Oklahoma,  nephews Isaiah J. Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Brendon Stone of Seminole, Oklahoma, Kayden West of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kaleb Stone of Morris, Oklahoma, and Michael Mitchel of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Wake services will be held at 6:30 P.M., Tuesday night at Swearingen Chapel, with Billy Merritt officiating.  Burial will follow at Snake Creek # 2 Church Cemetery, with Chebon Kernall officiating. Casket bearers will be; Mitchell Little, Jacob McGeisey, Joshua Bell, Christian Lena, and Marshall Tiger. Honorary bearers will be Osceola Little Sr., Woodrow West, Isaiah J. Harjo, Larry Wolf Sr., Alex Miller, Alvin Miller and George Mooney. Funeral Services will under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
