Longtime Seminole resident Max Swanson passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the age of 80 in Seminole. rnrnHe was born on November 11, 1926 in Three Sands, Oklahoma to Grover G. and Stella Mae (Clymer) Swanson. rnrnMax came to Seminole from Kansas in 1946 and was a carpenter.rnrnHe was affiliated with Wright, Inc as a builder and building contractor and built many homes in the Seminole area; among them were Eastgate and Dixon Green Acres sub-division and homes in Westwood Hills and the Sportsmen lake area.rnrnOn May 9, 1945 he married Wilma Olivia Kennedy in Lyons, Kansas.rnrnHe served as a Private 1st Class in the United States Army during World War II in the 1st Division Band.rnrnIn the 1950's he was active in Boy Scouts, serving as Scoutmaster and was a Little League baseball coach. He was also an active memberof the First United Methodist Church all his life.rnrnMax was a loving husband, father and grandfather who had a very special relationship with his three grandsons, who he loved very much.rnrnHe was a very loyal Oklahoma University Football fan.rnrnHis parents, four sisters and one baby brother preceded him in death.rnrnHe is survived by his wife Wilma of the home, son and daughter-in-law: Max A. Swanson Jr. and Brenda of Seminole, Oklahoma, daughter, Olivia Mae Swanson of Grapevine, Texas, one sister and brother-in-law: Virginia and Dave Womble of Hobbs, New Mexico, and three grandsons: Cale and Deanna Swanson of Seminole, Zane Swanson of Winter Park, Colorado, and Brian Swanson of Seminole. rnrnGraveside Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, November 20, 2006 at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev.
