Maurine Wright

MAURINE BONNIE CAMPBELL WRIGHT passed away on March 14, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She was born April 3, 1915, in Konawa, Oklahoma to Sam and Bertha (Rodden) Campbell.  She attended school at Konawa, Central High, and East Central College in Ada, Oklahoma.  She married Jesse Wright, March 21, 1936 and lived in Seminole, Oklahoma until his death in 1995.    Maurine was a hairdresser and instructor, owning a salon in Seminole for many years.  She was an accomplished musician, singing and playing the piano with The Wright Quartet, on radio, and in her Church.  She played for the Senior Citizens Center almost every day.  Although Alzheimer’s robbed her of memories, she still played the piano into her 90's, and she always had a smile on her face.  She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Lucille Mullen and brother, Jack Campbell.  She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Jeanne Brakebill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a special brother-in-law, David Mullen of Mississippi as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Maurine’s to The Alzheimers Association, 3555 N. W. 58 st. Suite 220, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
