Maurice Joseph Green

Maurice Joseph Green , age 74 and a former resident of Sacred Heart, Oklahoma passed away at Prague Regional Memorial Hospital in Prague, Oklahoma on August 6, 2022.

A Wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening August 11, 2022 at St. Benedict Catholic Church Gathering Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday August 12th at St. Benedict Catholic Church, and Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate.  Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Konawa with military honors.

Maurice was born October 1, 1947 at Sacred Heart, Oklahoma to Joseph B. Green and Catherine B. (Kustersteffen) Green.  He graduated from Konawa High School and attended East Central University of Ada, Oklahoma.  He married Linda Sue Murray June 1, 1974 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and he worked as an independent Drilling Mud Engineer for the oil and gas industry.  Maurice also proudly served in the U. S. Army, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He loved raising cattle, collecting classic cars, and helping people in need.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Green of the home in Shawnee, Oklahoma; one son, Billy Green and wife, Holly of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Angela Love and husband, Chris of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; one sister, Dorothy Edgemon of Warrenton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cassady, Dylan, Mallory, and Brayden; one great grandchild, Wrenlee; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Green; one brother, Chris Green and one sister, Betty Milligan.
