Longtime Seminole County resident Matilda ?Maxine? Cowan passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2007 in Maud at the age of 77.rnrnShe was born on December 12, 1929 in Pleasant Grove, Oklahoma to Jose Remigo and Lucinda (Coker) Castilla.rnrnShe was an L.P.N. at Seminole Hospital for many years and retired in 1992.rnrnShe married Wallace R. Cowan, Sr. on August 6, 1952 in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.rnShe is survived by her husband Wallace Cowan of the home, one son Wallace R. Cowan Jr. of Maud, Oklahoma and one daughter, WaDean Cowan of Maud, Oklahoma, three brothers and sisters-in-law: Tony and Mary Costello of Tucson, Arizona, Russell Wilson of Shreveport, Louisiana., Danny and Leigh Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona, five sisters and brother-in-law: Anne Kemp of Conroe, Texas, Majel Carpitcha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marie Grow, Peoria, Arizona, Lupe and Leo Ibanez of Alice, Texas and Betty and husband Steve Feigel of Orem, Utah, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dorval and Joan Cowan of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and sister-in-law: Mary of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.rnFour grandchildren: D?Nay and husband Derek Rowsey, Danielle Hamilton, John Grove, Lori and husband Bryan Brewer, five great grandchildren: Desiree Patterson, Emily Hamilton, Colton Grove, Hailee Grove and Devin Brewer.rnShe is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ivan in 1999 and one daughter, Valera Faye in 1957.rnA special thanks goes to Sharon Booker, Companions in Caring Hospice of Ada, Oklahoma, Linda Davis and the ladies of Med-Cor of Seminole, Oklahoma for all the special care they gave to Maxine.rnFuneral Services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Friday, August 10, 2007 at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Earl Hood and Herschel Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Coker Family Cemetery near Maud. rnrnCasket Bearers will be John Grove, Derek Rowsey, Herschel Davis, Steven Brewer, Frank Williams and Robert Wells.
