Maryetta Franks

Maryetta Franks, a lifelong resident of Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away February 4, 2019 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Seminole Indian Baptist Church in Konawa, Oklahoma, with Charles Burgess officiating the service.  Burial will follow at the Seminole Indian Baptist Cemetery in Konawa, Oklahoma. Maryetta was born May 23, 1935 in Ada, Oklahoma to May Burgess and Jack Jones. Maryetta married Spencer Alfred Franks and he preceded her in death in 1996. Maryetta  managed a printing company, “Archer Photo Copy”, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for many years.  She completed high school and went on to attend classes at both Central State University and Oklahoma City Community College. She loved sewing, taking care of her kids and family and attending church. She is survived by her sister Jeanese Factor of Seminole, Oklahoma,  her two sons Tracy York and Osceola York of Wewoka, Oklahoma; two daughter Konne York of Idaho and Veronica York of Wewoka, Oklahoma. She had five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Maryetta was preceded in death by her parents, her  husband Spencer Franks and twin sisters; Arnetta Ellis and Armetta Jones. Caskets bearers will be David Franks, Danny Franks, David Gouge, Nicholas Pratt, Manuel Lena,  Squeegee Yargee and Butch Yargee.
