Mary Janet Tampleton

Mary Janet Tampleton, 85 year old Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed away April 9, 2020 in Ada, Oklahoma. She was born April 26, 1934 in Macomb, Oklahoma to parents Joe Peavler and Alverta (Thomas) Peavler. Janet was raised in Maud, Oklahoma and graduated from Maud High School in 1952. In 1966, she moved to California, then to Arizona for a while and then back to Maud for the last 25 years. Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church in Romulus, Oklahoma and was an active member of the Maud Chapter of Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting and traveling. Janet is survived by her brother; Jerry Peavler and his wife Alice of St. Louis, Oklahoma, her niece; Brenda Underwood of Maud, Oklahoma and nephews; Alton Peavler of Maud, Oklahoma and Morgan Peavler of Battlecreek Michigan, 3 children that she raised as her own; Jay, Anthony Chad and Susan Nicole, grandchildren; Emmilina, Draven and Cayden, aunts; Dixie Raines of Macomb, Oklahoma and Sue Burch and her husband Frank of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and cousins; Brent Galyon, Paul Galyon and Terry Ranes and a cousin that she raised; Paula Collins. No services are planned at this time for Janet.
