Mary Curtis Shawver, 76, former longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, now living in Flower Mound, Texas where she passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Flower Mound, Texas. Mary was born on June 2, 1941 in Maud, Oklahoma to Curtis Clark Christian and Maxine (Houston) Christian. Mary married Duane Shawver on June 22, 1962 in Seminole, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2000. Mary graduated from Seminole High School in the class of 1959. She attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where she met her future husband Duane Shawver. After she had her three children, she returned to East Central where she studied Medical Science and received the highest marks. She enjoyed writing, art, travel, fashion, she had fun participating in local fashion shows, and she taught aerobics at Seminole Junior College, always making health and fitness a priority. Mary worked for Dr. John Randolph as a dental assistant for several years. Her biggest passion in life was loving her children and would drop everything to spend time with them. Mary is survived by her son John Shawver of Edmond, Oklahoma, two daughters Hailey Charamella of Flower Mound, Texas and Tracy Kipnis of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Maxine Christian, her husband Duane Shawver and her brother Harrold Lee Ham. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church at 910 West Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Mark Watson officiating.
