Mary Ann Hughes, 63 Mary Ann Hughes, Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 63. Mary was born September 18, 1952 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida to parents, Ruie Lee Birks and Dorothy Mae Hammon. Mary graduated in 1970 from Asher High School in Asher, Oklahoma and in her early adulthood was a hairdresser. She later worked at several hospitals in medical records with her last place of employment being Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary was of the Methodist faith; she was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. She possessed such a caring and sweet spirit, was a giver and always thought of everyone before herself. Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, sewing, traveling and fishing. Mary is survived by three daughters, Danielle Brauer of Seminole, Oklahoma, step-daughters, Sherry Jackson and her husband, Jimmy of Piedmont,Oklahoma, Whitney Tero and her husband Dan of Edmond, Oklahoma; one brother, Bob Birks and his wife Janet of Asher, Oklahoma; two sisters, Janet Cranford of Maud, Oklahoma, Donna Underwood and her husband Gary of Muse, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Avery Brauer, Mallory Brauer, Morgan Tero. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ruie and Dorothy Birks; her husband Jerry Hughes who passed away December 14, 2007; one brother, James Birks and one brother-in-law, Dennis Cranford. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Tim Tate officiating. Burial will take place at Vista Cemetery, Asher, Oklahoma. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, Oklahoma.
