Seminole resident, Mary Ann Hendricks, 85, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, in Shawnee.
Mary, the daughter of Albert and Lyda (Peck) Zachary, was born February 11, 1939, in Adell, Oklahoma. On February 11, 1972, she married Marvin Hendricks, in Sulphur. She and Marvin moved to Seminole, where Mary made their home. Over the years Mary worked in sewing factories in Konawa, Holdenville and Seminole. She also served many people around her, cooking at Pioneer Seminole Estates, nursing home. She also took great pleasure in cooking for Seminole Junior College, taking care of the kids, but especially the basketball and baseball players.
She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as three sons, Ricky Sanford, Ronald Sanford, and Randy Sanford; and two sisters, Wilma Pirtle, and Nina Wheatley; two sisters-in-law Dorthy Overbey, and Gail Bendlow.
Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Marvin Hendricks, of Seminole; daughters Rhonda Ledane Sanford, of Tulsa, Tina Starr Hendricks, of Shawnee, and Paula Dawn Hendricks, of Oklahoma City; three granddaughters, one grandson and their children; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Treasa Hendricks, of Seminole; and one sister-in-law, Helen Darr, of Seminole; along with many other family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
