Marvin Dunn,78, longtime Seminole resident died Saturday, January 24, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Marvin was born August 15, 1930 in Nyssa, Oregon to Jesse D. and Edna (Carter) Dunn. He moved to Seminole from Mounds, Oklahoma 54 years ago.rnrnMr. Dunn was a pipeline worker for Kerr-McGee Oil Company for over 32 years and retired in 1994. Mr. Dunn served his country in the U.S. Army as a corporal, from 1948 to 1953. Mr. Dunn was a member at the Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole. He was a mason and member to the Masonic Lodge in Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnMarvin married Edith Irene Harper on May 14, 1969 in Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnMr. Dunn is survived by his wife Edith Irene Harper-Dunn of the home in Seminole. Four Sons: David Dunn of Claremore, Oklahoma, Steve Dunn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Marvin Dunn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ron Seay of Seminole, Oklahoma. Daughter Pam Blalock of Seminole, Oklahoma. Three brothers; Ivy Dunn of San Antonio, Texas, Curtis Dunn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Ernest Dunn of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Two sisters; Wilma Surrett of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ramona Carlile of Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.rnrnHe was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, his parents and one daughter Sherry Chambless.rnrnServices will be Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Services will be held at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating and Rev. Charles Spears assisting. Military honors will be performed at the funeral home chapel where the services will conclude. Burial will be at Little Cemetery.rnrnCasket bearers will be, Mike Chambless, Kevin Lyle, Tim Titiriga, Michael Dunn, Rob Cowley and Ron Seay.
